Having the presence like that of an enforcer, Paul John is one of the many well respected locals from the Philippines showing that Pinoy surfers can compete against an international field. After taking out several international names and sealing his spot into the prize money level, Paul John was asked what he would do with his guaranteed minimum 600.00 USD prize? (more so, if he wins the entire event)John Paul simply stated in a soft spoken, gentle tone... He won the Occy Grom Comp in Malaysia in 2010, Won the recent Big Z comp in Zambales and among the many comps under his belt, he also won today's Siargao National Comp Juniors 2011 and qualified to represent the Philippines in the Billabong Pro Jr. this September 21-28. 14-year-old Jay-R Esquivel becomes the youngest Filipino surfer to ever sign with the Premier Surf Label, Billabong.
